About MBS Imaging
MBS Imaging was founded in 2009 by a group of physicians to solve the costly and inconvenient problem of sending patients to the hospital for instrumental dysphagia evaluations.
MBS Imaging provides video and endoscopic swallowing evaluations to over 250 Nursing Homes around Chicagoland. We are able to provide our unique service to SNFs, Assisted Living, CCRCs, private clinics, and even at a patient's home!

Dr. Shah Alam
Medical Director
Dr. Alam serves as Medical Director for MBS Imaging. He is currently a hospitalist in the Edwards-Elmhurst healthcare network.
Michael J. Swies
Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
Mike graduated from Elmhurst College with his B.A in Speech-Language Pathology and from Rush University in 2008 with an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology. He has worked in acute care, inpatient rehab, and home health settings over his career. He is currently the Lead Speech-Language Pathologist at MBS Imaging. He is well experienced with video fluoroscopic and flexible endoscopic procedures for evaluation of the swallow.
